A new entity was created, which aims to oversee the energy sector.

ENSE - National Entity for the Energy Sector will be the new institution whose responsibility will be to oversee the fuels, electricity, natural gas and bottling sector.

The new body, which comes from the former National Entity for the Fuel Market (ENMC), will bring together competencies that were previously competences of various institutions, such as the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), Directorate General of Energy and Geology ) and ENMC.

ENSE will now be responsible for overseeing the energy sector, as well as for managing the national oil reserves, which was under the authority of the National Entity for the Fuel Market.
